The Odyssey The Greeks believed that The Odyssey was composed by Homer. It is probable that Homer lived in the eighth century in Ionia‚ the Greek-inhabited coast and islands off central western Turkey. Homer is thought to have been writing towards the end of the eighth century BC. There was a great oral tradition of storytelling in Ancient Greece. It was not written down to be read‚ but was composed either orally‚ or at least in an oral style‚ and recited to the Greeks. The events being described

I do personally think Shakespeare was intentional in retaining the charm. Literary geniuses the like of William typically don’t‚ as a general rule‚ make such conspicuous oversights. Maybe he didn’t think we’d notice upon first watching and/or reading‚ but on further reflection this becomes obvious and intriguing. In terms of the play‚ it does make sense to me that Puck kept it on Demetrius. Perhaps it’s my inherent pessimism‚ but I feel it’s one of the many examples of “concord of discord”

Tom and Arnie act as a trickster in many different ways. Although they both do things to manipulate people‚ one of them is a little better than the other. Even though Tom tricks others into doing his work‚ he still did some of it and was not as rude as Arnie. Tom and Arnie are similar because they both are very sarcastic and like to brag about what they have; however‚ they are different because Tom is not as snobby and "upper class" as Arnie is‚ which makes Tom more likeable. Tom and Arnie are

Wind Spirit. Wind Spirit was hardly mentioned‚ but right away‚ I got the idea that he was the mischievous character. In The World on the Turtle’s Back‚ there is a mischievous character called the left-handed twin‚ who is told to be the very first trickster to walk the earth. Both of these creation myths are full of unusual and unexplainable things; One of the weirdest is the matter of how the daughters became pregnant. In When Grizzlies Walked Upright‚ the girl marries a grizzly bear and “bears” his

Shakespeare’s most popular play‚ A Midsummer Night’s dream‚ is a romantic comedy that features young lovers that fall deeply in and out of love in a brief period of time. This play is unique because it demonstrates tragedy and comedy at the same time. The comedy not only provides amusement and laughter but also helps ease tension between characters.
