American Films Chinatown In this essay I will discuss technical‚ stylistic‚ and storytelling from one of the great American noir films of all time‚ Chinatown. The storyline is unparalleled and the portrayal of the characters by Jack Nicholson and Faye Dunaway are brilliant. Director Roman Polanski and writer Robert Towne created a masterpiece‚ and it doesn’t go unnoticed. The duo captures everything that is film noir from the World War II times while tweaking the rules along the way. Chinatown

What is the significance of being a hero? In Frank Miller’s The Dark Knight Returns‚ I would like to address the theme of rebirth and its relevance to Batman. Batman’s rebirth can be seen through‚ his physical changes‚ superhero power struggle‚ and his death. Batman’s rebirth is witnessed by his initial physical changes. For example‚ Alfred points out‚ “Master Bruce. Whatever happened to your moustache” (20‚ 7).This physical change is what hints at a different stage or “rebirth” in Bruce Wayne

Dr. Jekyll: Good or Evil? Over the summer break I had the opportunity to read the novel‚ The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde by Robert Louis Stevenson. The genre of this novel is classified as a mystery. This connects to my thesis statement that humanity has a dual nature where both good and evil exist. The novel supports my chosen theme/thesis‚ because throughout reading we find out that even the best of people have a bit of evil in them. This is showed out through the events that occur
