Similar to the story‚ the film by the same name directed by Ben Stiller‚ gives the story of Walter’s life while adding substance to the story. While in the short story the theme is each person sees the world a little differently‚ Stiller morphs the theme in the film into stepping out of our shell and trying for what you want in life.     Jess Walter’s writing was definitely an interesting read and I felt like it was unlike any of the other readings that we have read thus far. It kept me interested in the story and I felt that was partly because of the mystery that came with it. The end of the story was a little suspenseful‚ not exactly knowing how the story was going to continue until you kept reading. Overall‚ it was a good short read. Gloria Bird’s writing and Sherman Alexie’s writings were my top favorites out of this folder
