For my imitation paper‚ the homeric style elements used are simile‚ imagery‚ delay‚ dialogue‚ and patronymics. The first element I used is simile and according to The Odyssey‚ there’s a quote "and as four yoked stallions spring all together‚ beneath the lash‚ leaping high‚ and then eat up the dusty road on the plain" (Homer‚ 194). A simile that I included in my imitation is "With the song of "tale as old as time‚" Considering that tune is compared to the age of the song‚ Comparing the certainty of

The poem‚ We Wear the Mask‚ was a beautiful poem. Many people can relate to having to hide their true feelings. I am one of those people. Honors 24 August 2016 Odes To Common Things: Literary Analysis “Ode to things” In the ode “Ode to things”‚ I found 2 poetic devices: simile and alliteration. A simile is a comparison between 2 different objects using “like” or “as”. Alliteration uses multiple words‚ usually in a series‚ that have the same first consonant sound. A simile I found within the text was‚ “...that one because it’s as soft as the softness of a woman’s hip…”(15-17). Having this device helps the reader see the connection between

One of the things that makes Shakespeare’s writing so famous is all of the literary devices he adds in. One of the many devices found is found Act 2 scene 2. At this point in the play‚ Macbeth has just killed King Duncan and is talking to his wife‚ Lady Macbeth about it. Macbeth is very paranoid and freaking out because he suddenly hears a strange knocking‚ but his hands are still covered in blood. This is where a hyperbole comes in and Macbeth says “Will all great Neptune’s ocean wash this blood

Aside is a remark by a character in the play that is heard by the audience but unheard by the other team members in the play. In Romeo and Juliet an example would
