Romeo and Juliet * What ideas do they share * How has the director highlighted these connections Romeo and Juliet is the story of the relationship between the son and daughter of two families‚ which are enemies‚ the Montagues and the Capulets. Their families are against their plan to marry‚ and the story ends in the death of both lovers. In West Side Story‚ instead of families‚ there are two rival gangs in New York City‚ the Sharks and the Jets. One gang is "American" and the other gang

In the 19th century‚ after a long period of isolationism‚ China and then Japan came under pressure from the West to open to foreign trade and relations. The Industrial Revolution in Europe and the United States had created a wide gap between them and the West‚ leaving the two Asian nations behind technologically and military. In that period‚ neither of them had the power to stand up to the Western nations‚ and eventually both had to sign unequal treaties that forced them to open their ports and cities

Musical Analysis The first piece I chose was Frédéric Chopin’s Prelude in E-Minor (op.28 no. 4). It was performed by Aldona Dvarionaite (2009). Chopin was a composer in the Romantic period. This is a sad piano piece. Chopin wrote primarily for the piano. The piece range was almost monotone in nature. The sound was in scale rising and lowering using the same melody throughout the piece. The tones were kept uniform repeating over and over again. I found this piece of music one dimensional.

the Great Depression is completely the opposite of its reality‚ which is of a Native American woman surviving life in times of the American settlement. Because people become accustomed with their single view point‚ they fail to see the other side of the story and reveal what is behind the curtain. Stein’s whole idea is based upon that question of illusion and that icon status rips away the reality. I myself comprise of one very specific occurrence‚ in which the misapprehension that was captured through
