In the novel “Moby Dick” by Herman Melville‚ a story describes a character named Ishmael and his dreams of going on a whaling boat to see the world from a different view. One of the most memorable scene of this novel was the ending in which we were able to visualize Captain Ahab jump of the boat to try his best to kill the white wale know as Moby Dick. It was a very gruesome scene that portrayed Ahab jump onto Moby Dick with a harpoon‚ stabbing him as best he could trying to end the whales life yet

4. Whaling Issue I don’t agree with the Norwegian or Japanese position regarding non-endangered species of whales as a culture exemption. Many nations have strange habit and culture is the reason for that‚ so we can accept and respect other’s culture as long as it doesn’t affect on something that could make a problem for others. Today we can hear about annual celebration for some Iranian people all over the world‚ and that is a sad day for them‚ so they start to hit them self’s tell they bleed in

Commercial Whaling Countless amounts of great whales will be illegally caught and slaughtered for commercial sale and “scientific” research this year. In spite of a worldwide moratorium‚ put in place by the International Whaling Commission twenty four years ago banning the act of commercial whaling‚ three defiant countries continue to hunt whales illegally. If these countries hunt whales against the law and continue to get away with minimal consequence it may encourage other countries to resume

In the story Moby Dick‚ and in the Blackfish movie trailer there are parts about hunting whales and either keeping them in captivity or killing them. In these selections there are explanations to go along with what both of the people think as to what they’re going to do when they capture the whales. One similarity in Moby Dick and Blackfish is that in both of these there are people trying to catch whales. For example‚ in Moby Dick it states‚ “The narrator becomes a sailor on Captain Ahab’s ship

The reading passage argues that the ’’quackers’’ sounds heard by the crew of the submarines patrolling in the North Atlantic and the Arctic Ocean had three possible reasons and provides details to advocate these reasons. However‚ the professor found this argument by the passage unconvincing and repudiates all three reasons. At first‚ the reading passage posits that ’’quackers’’ sounds’ the main source is orca whales who inhabit that area in the ocean. Conversely‚ the professor claims that this theory

In the case of the Makah Tribe‚ I do not think it is appropriate for nonmembers of the tribe to evaluate the morality of the whale hunt. Many indigenous people from around the world hold true to the old ways in an attempt to keep their history alive. This is but one of those traditions. When searching for information about the Makah‚ I found that they do have a long tradition of whale hunting. Realizing that it was up to them to protect their people‚ land‚ and fishing tradition‚ the Makah forefathers
