an effective poem should include a location‚ images‚ similes‚ or metaphor because that you need to show what you are trying to explain in the poem. We use imagery to expose more about the landscape or scene. I do believe that my writing has changed during this semester. In my third poem‚ I explained the natural side of ancestry and it was nice to challenge myself to find out humans and birds have in common or differences. I learned that it is in your best interest to read your poems out loud to help

this may seem like a very melodramatic description of our world‚ it’s truly not that far-fetched. The idea of “taking it slow” and the idea of all aspects of life having meaning are explored in the play Our Town by Thornton Wilder. Our Town is a play which tells the story of a generic American town‚ Grover’s Corners‚ New Hampshire‚

The two China towns of New York are both similar in many ways but also very different. The most obvious similarity of course is the general ethnicity of the two areas. The people that work and reside in these areas are mostly Asian immigrants. The biggest difference that I noticed was use of the area. Most of the Chinese in the Manhattan China town are there for the purpose of carrying on commercial business and stores and many businesses that are geared towards a very diverse crowd of people

“A Ghost Town With a Quad” was written by Rebecca Schuman‚ an education columnist‚ and published by Slate.com on November 26th‚ 2013. Our car literally broke down in an abandoned town because of a stupid dare. How? Is this even a joke? Is this some kind of a dream where it comes from those kind of horror movies? No. We are stuck. Can’t get out. And the foggs were starting to get thicker and thicker as the time walks. Looking around. Buildings were dead‚ trees were dead ‘everything’ there was dead. No sound of wind. Just complete silence. Even no signals reach here. What do you expect from an abandoned place. The sun

The playwright Our Town features a wide range of philosophizing that one would not usually expect from such a traditional and classic play. The play’s author‚ Thornton Wilder‚ does an exceptional job characterizing his characters‚ with many seeming completely normal yet others clearly extraordinarily wise. The two main characters‚ characters George and Emily are both consistent sources of wisdom and clarity throughout the play. Throughout the play‚ George’s parts resonated with me the most‚ and he

“A Product of This Town” “A Product of This Town” was a piece that detailed the events surrounding and unfolding from a single event in Jena‚ which caused a hoard of people to descend on the small town. It starts out detailing how the town was a simple town and the thing to do on Saturdays was to drive the “Loop” through the town and just hang out with your friends no matter what their gender or race. One day at the local high school nooses were hung in a tree that had been‚ by tradition‚ the ‘white
