ABSTRACT In order to determine the effect of the substrate on the rate of respiration of yeast‚ Durham test tube method was used in the first experiment. In this method two test tubes was obtain‚ where test tube one contains distilled H20 with the 7 ml substrate glucose while test tube two contains distilled H20 and with the cofactor in the form of Magnesium sulphate MgSO4.
