1st Entry: Introduction From the title of this book‚ I could infer that the book will be about how the elements were discovered‚ the origin of their names and the people who discovered each element that is now a part of the periodic table. The author of the book‚ Hugh Aldersey-Williams‚ must be an individual of great knowledge and has a deep interest and understanding of chemistry—or else he would have never wrote this book. In this book‚ I expect that I would be able to learn how the ancients

The book I decided to read is The Things They Carried which was written by Tim O’Brien. The book is a bunch of connected short stories of a platoon of soldiers in the Vietnam War. The work is a piece of fiction that uses real names and includes the author himself as the protagonist. By doing this‚ the author meshes and blurs the non fiction in with the fiction‚ which makes the book feel like a war memoir. Overall‚ the book was interesting insight on the Vietnam War and a very good book to read.

really enjoy the book. The beginning of the novel was just character introductions and invitations to a suspenseful place called Indian Island. As the story began to progress‚ I found the book strangely intriguing. It was about the perfect murder. The interesting part of the novel is wondering who was committing the murder‚ so it keeps you guessing. There were also very funny puns. My favorite pun was the person who invited all the guests‚ U.N. Owen‚ who later in the book‚ was found to stand

Good to Great by Jim Collins is by far the best business-oriented book that I’ve read that can be applied to any career situation. I can see why it has gained the notoriety and respect from top level executives around the world. I have read other business type books which were more of a motivational lecture than actual years of research going into the making of one text. Before reading this book‚ my preconceived notion was that I would be lost in trying to understand executive jargon. That was not
