Political Contribution to Continuities and Changes over Culture in the Mediterranean Region.
By the time periods of 200 C.E to 1000 C.E the Mediterranean region went through several political changes and transformations which lead to a cultural transformation also. The majority of the political changes were about invasions and conquering land and it affected culture in a religious way. For instance when they had an invasion the majority of the time they forced people to accept whatever religion they had. A good example of politics having to affect culture would be the crusades the majority of crusades was because of the Christian church telling the other people that they had the power over them. A good example of a continuity would be the fact that Christianity kept spreading through the region by the missionaries that went throughout the trade networks to spread the word. Religion was one of the main factor into culture but it wasn’t the only one the political transformations also affected the literature, learning and language. When invasions or traveling the incorporation of new learning, religion and language was usual since people from one place meet people from other places. Although the Mediterranean region went through several political transformations it also influenced some cultural transformation, the political changes affected religion, language and learning. It affected religion that people accepted as their official religion or it sometimes changed language for instance in a period of time Latin disappeared but they continued with another language or what type of learning they had was it religious or philosophical.
In Western Europe there were several religious changes that had to deal with the Christian church which was between the church and ruling elites, who had more power. One of the changes into religion in the time period 800s the Roman church became powerful in Western
