The 14th century was a huge transition into the western European from the late medieval feudalism. These three events helped form western Europe to a more modern way of looking at the world. The plague is known as an infectious disease that is caused by bacteria. The causes were because of fleas that transmitted it into Europe and the circumstances were that people lost their life from the infections disease. It infected society and culture by killing their love ones and people trying to find the cause. Many people believed that it was God’s punishment of sinful men. It also affected society by more people moving into the cities and labor shortages so more people can find a good job. The plague affected the artist and writers as them using a new theme as the Danse macabre. Danse macabre is an artistic genre of late-medieval allegory on the universality of death: no matter one's station in life, the Dance of Death unites all. The rise in learning and literature, the decline in the power of the medieval Catholic church, and the Black Death (Plague) impacted the 14th century in many ways.
