This show shows what it’s like to be a pregnant teen and they ask a lot of questions. Am I going to lose my reputation? Am I going to drop out of school if I get pregnant? How am I going to take care of this child? What’s going to happen to me? These are all questions you are going to have to think about when you are pregnant or even before you get pregnant. While watching this show, it helps you think of answers to all of these questions because they explain what it is like to be a pregnant teen. In “16 and Pregnant” the boyfriends usually stick around, but every once in a while they will leave their girlfriend because they think it’s just too hard to take care of the baby. They either give the baby up for adoption or have a very hard time taking care of it. Most of the time they have support from their own parents, but I have noticed on most of the shows it is a cycle that repeats itself. For example, the pregnant teen has a mother who had her at a young age, just like her grandmother, and so on.
In my own case, I had my first child when I was seventeen. Even though I had both parents at home and my mom waited until she was married to have sex and bear children, I didn’t wait. For me if I had been more open about and talked about it more I believe I would not have winded up in that situation. I was afraid to tell my parents I was having sex because I felt that I was letting them down big time. I also believe had there been shows on TV like 16 and pregnant
