The word photovoltaic is a combination of two words ‘photo’ which has a meaning of light and ‘voltaics’ meaning electricity. So, the scientific terminology photovoltaic technology describes to the use solar energy for the production of EPIA (2006).
Figure 2. Diagram that shows how a solar PV works.
The diagram above illustrates the operation of a basic photovoltaic cell, also called a solar cell. Solar cells are made of the same kinds of semiconductor materials – a material that acts as electric insulator, such as silicon. For solar cells, a thin semiconductor wafer is specially treated to form an electric field, positive on one side and negative on the other. When light energy strikes the solar cell, electrons are knocked loose from the atoms in the semiconductor material. If electrical conductors are attached to the positive and negative sides, forming an electrical circuit, the electrons can be captured in the form of an electric current - that is, electricity. This electricity can then be used to power a load, such as a light or a tool (www.science.nasa.gov/science-news/science-at-nasa/2002/solarcells)

It blocks the sunlight from reaching the surface of solar PV’s. Hence, reducing electricity Kumar and Kaur (2014). Areas with long rainy season are free of this problem on the other hand, areas with long dry seasons can be affected by this problem. In a research done on China, PV’s having the same irradiance and outside temperature showed different electricity output. Those that are full of thick dust produced only 7.8 percent while those that were clean produced 9.2 percent of electricity (www.us.sunpower.com). Repeated and continuous cleaning of solar PV’s solve such kind of problems enhancing the amount of
