What are macronutrients?
• Macronutrients are nutrients that come in large amounts. They include water, carbohydrates, proteins, and fats.
What are micronutrients?
• Micronutrients are nutrients that come in small amounts. They include minerals and vitamins.
How are minerals defined? What functions do they play?
• Minerals are essential for the function of our cells. They are inorganic because they don’t contain any carbon. Minerals help your muscles, bones, blood, absorption of oxygen, and your brain function.
What role do enzymes play in metabolism?
• The role of enzymes play in metabolism is to help speed up and break down substances you digest.
What is the difference between hydrogenated and non-hydrogenated fats?
• The difference between …show more content…
• Glycolysis produces 2 ATP molecules.
• Citric acid cycle produces the generation of ATP and also releases the chemical carbon dioxide.
• ETC produces water when the electrons combine with water.
What is the formula for photosynthesis?
• The formula for photosynthesis is CO2+H20+Light- C6H12O6+O2
How do cellular respiration and photosynthesis work as one large cycle?
• Cellular respiration and photosynthesis work as one large cycle because in photosynthesis the plants release the chemical oxygen, which is necessary for us to survive. When a person breathes in that oxygen it is then delivered to their cells. This is called cellular respiration which produces ATP that in return releases water and carbon dioxide. They are considered one big cycle because they both have the same chemical reactions just reversed.
What is the role of NAD and NADP with respect to the two cycles? What do these two molecules turn into?
• NAD is a coenzyme that has a main function of picking up electrons and transporting them to make NADH. NADH carries the electrons to the electron transport chain.
What is the difference between C3, C4 and CAM
