The United States was established on July 4, 1776 with the Declaration of Independence. Since the signing of the Declaration of Independence, the United States has gone through many changes and will continue to change for years to come. As I think of the future of this country I dream of how America may be in 2100, it will be extremely different. No one can predict exactly how the nation will change, but there are many differing opinions. The United States will change in many ways such as social equality, social class, racism, gender equality, employment, economy, poverty, culture, role of government, and the role of the United States in the world. Some of these aspects will change more than others but overall I bet you that all these things will change in some way. Some people would say that some of these changes would be vast and radical. Some of these changes may be bad, but others will help the United States flourish as a nation. In the years proceeding to 2100 the United States will grow and develop more and more and our nation will not be the same as it is today.…

Despite the risk of sounding cliché by opening with a Ludwig Wittgenstein quote, this is where we shall begin. It is something that relates back to a basic human instinct that is so deeply rooted in our DNA. Why do we yearn so intuitively for ideas that are silly and nonsensical? The answer is balance. Everything in the universe, including us is constantly striving for equilibrium. The Industrial Revolution was an expression of human logic and innovation. We wanted to produce more quantity, with less resources. This is a exceptionally serious, logical concept that at times…

The invention of the Internet is one of the more significant events of our century. It changed the way we do business around the world, it changed the way we communicate, and it changed the way we educate and entertain ourselves. Some may bunch the invention of Internet with the overall technology advancement of our recent history, but I believe it stands on its own when it comes to significance it makes in our daily lives and variety in which it is being used. Without the world wide web we would not have the convenience of ordering and processing products from around the globe in such a timely fashion. We would not have the convenience of talking with someone across the world…

Even in the midst of this secular world, there are people in it, or who have been recently in it, who greatly imitate Mary. A modern day Mary is a person of today, or has at least lived close to this era of time, who shows a significant amount of virtue, humility, modesty, and most importantly, has a correct and delicate conscience. However, a modern day Eve, is the exact opposite. This person may tend to lack modesty, virtue, and have a lax and desensitized conscience. A modern day Mary habitually judges correctly, whereas, a modern day Eve may be inclined to be lax and not care if whatever they are doing is right or wrong.…

Cyber bullying is a rapidly growing trend that can be more detrimental than "traditional" forms of bullying in many ways. A key difference between cyber bullying and traditional bullying is the ability to bully without a face-to-face altercation. The bully is also invisible and not knowing who is responsible can add to a victim's insecurity. It is no longer about the one big, mean bully picking on the smaller kid in the schoolyard. Any person with an Internet connection of any kind can bully almost anyone else. Cyber bullying has the same insidious consequences as any kind of bullying, causing isolation and fear in its victims.…

As that bell went off I thought to myself, Finally I can leave this class of ignorant children who are all just self –centered and fake. I collected my books together and placed my binder away in my backpack, I was the last to leave that damn classroom so I decided to politely say goodbye to my teacher, since good manners always give you a good look to the teacher. I walked out and felt the warm air on my skin; damn I thought to myself this is winter for Christ sakes! Why is it so hot? Well that’s what happens when you live in the sweet state of Southern California. I walked alone to my locker like I always do always keeping my head down for some reason. I don’t look up a lot when I’m alone for some reason usually just…

Today one may ask why it is that students study dusty old pieces of clay, or scrolls with fading ink. About two and a half thousand years ago authors such as Aristophanes, Sophocles, Aristotle and many others wrote works that are still read today. What these people have yet to grasp is the importance of the influence of the culture, the language, the many lessons learned and have yet to establish connections to the modern-day world expressed in Greek literature.…
