3.3 Communication Strategies
Three ways I plan on maintaining a positive and effective collaborative relationship with my student’s parents and guardian is by using a classroom newsletter, phone calls, and weekly progress reports. These three strategies target an important area of the student’s educational growth in the classroom. It is important to keep the student's parent and guardian aware of their student’s growth to help motivate or redirect them outside of the classroom.
A monthly classroom newsletter will encourage the guardians to get involved in their student's education. It allows me to give them a good amount of important information about the student’s educational surroundings without overwhelming them. I am able to incorporate the student’s special schedule. This will help the guardians send their child to school with the proper equipment. If it is Library day, the guardians will ensure that the students bring back their library book on time. If it is P.E., the guardians can ensure their child is wearing appropriate appeal. The monthly newsletter allows me to ask the guardians for help with classroom supplies that are needed. They may feel as if you are targeting their child. To maintain a positive relationship with the guardian is important to inform them of their student’s positive behavior in the classroom as well. Every week, I will make it mandatory to call a few of my student’s guardians. I will inform them of two positive aspects of their child and some negative aspects. This will help me to create a bond with the parents. Knowing that the student’s guardians are all busy, making a simple phone call to a teacher about their child's well-being can sometimes take a back seat. Incorporating a few phone calls a week can provide them the ability to ask me any questions they may have about the classroom and their student’s academic

    I provide a positive relationship with the child through daily routines and interactions allowing growth in in their development of self and others. Each morning I ensure that I greet each child and parent when they arrive. In greeting the child I will always address the child by his/her name and encourage the other children to say good morning.
