One definition of Interreligious Dialogue is the positive interaction between individuals or groups of people of different religious traditions to increase understanding. One goal of this course on Faith, Religion, and Society is that we become more knowledgeable about other religions so we can respect them and see what truth may be in them.
The Dialogue Reflection Paper is an opportunity for you to reflect on your own faith and another faith tradition. Select one religion that we studied this semester that particularly interests you. Then think about this religion and compare it with your own religion. Your own religion may be a Christian religion, another religion, agnosticism or atheism. Then re-read the section of the textbook that deals with the religion you are comparing with your own.
Finally, write a Dialogue Reflection Paper. This paper is to be 3-5 pages in length, word-processed, 12 point font size, double-spaced paragraphs, in proper essay form. You should include: prior experiences or ideas you brought to the project, a brief summary of your significant learning (not a summary of the two religions—but rather what you found most challenging or insightful in the textbook and in other learning), any experience with people you know of this faith, and most importantly your own reflection, insight, integration of the entire unit.
