The necessary steps and mind preparation to team building is utilized in Patrick Lencioni’s leadership book, the Five Dysfunctions of a Team. What makes a successful team is when team members are comfortable in their own vulnerability and establish trust to be able to take on a productive debate to find solutions.

When solving a problem everyone will having different solutions and the only way to solve it is to clash. The benefit of conflict is that it harvests solutions in the most productive timing and the sincerity of everyone’s true perspectives. In other sense, Kathryn states, “Our ability to engage in passionate, unfiltered debate about what we need to do to succeed will determine our future as much as any product we develop or partnership we sign” (Patrick, 101). Consequently, many employers avoid “interpersonal discomfort” because they would rather tolerate misbehavior then holding others accountable for their major issues. A prolong issue that DecisionTech dealt with and did not want to acknowledge is Mickey’s attitude. Mickey’s behavior was unacceptable within team meetings, she would roll her eyes to other team members opinion, make sarcastic comments, would not show any signs of vulnerability, her intentions were not for the best of the team and she never took responsible of her own actions.
