51 Sex Offenders Essay

The major problem I felt as of great importance would be that there’s 51 sex offenders in the area of 90017 and that only 36 of these man have an exact location. There are eight schools near them, five elementaries, 2 high schools and 1 middle school. These sex offenders don’t care the age of the victim and this to me is a big safety risk we are taking. Not long ago, there was an incident of a girl about 15 years of age whom a man tried to kidnap her and I have you know this was in front of New Academy of Science and Art. I’m saying this because I was walking down the road when I saw the man being arrested and the girl crying on the floor while talking to the officer. The girl kept repeating, “He pulled my arm! He tried to grab me! He try to lure me in his car, right before this woman saved me!”. This to me was atrocious, for I could've been the girl crying on the floor. If he didn’t stop to kidnap her in front of a school and a min away from a police station what makes you think 51 sex offenders should be living in an area full of children.
The best solution I can think of would be relocation, I know they are humans and should live a normal life blah…blah, but they shouldn't be near children.
There either should be more officers near school and areas where it’s dark or move them to a place far away from children. And of what I know of Last month, Buscaino authored a motion which is now under review in the City Attorney’s Office that would prohibit convicted sex offenders who have committed crimes against minors 14 and under from living within 300 feet of designated “Child Safety Zones.” So why are there so many living in the same area of the
schools?
