The French people during the reign of Napoleon were willing to give their rights to do things in the government. The people allowed Napoleon to take power and the right of the people to protest or strike. The people could not come against the government. The French were fine with this because they believed that would keep them safe. American citizens were willing to give up some personal rights. Some Americans were willing to allow the government to snoop around reading their emails, text messages and listening to our phone calls. The government and Americans think that having access to these personal things, from everyone, will ensure a safer country. Those Americans wanted to convince people that the Nine-Eleven attacks may have been preventable if the government had access to personal emails, text messages, and phone calls. American just like the French went through a hard time and trials and now were willing to risk it all, so that those hard times won’t happen
