His children stared at him with wide eyes wanting to hear another one of their grandpa’s epic stories about his time in World War two. He never tells of these stories often and they are never repeats of the same one.
Cecil walked around the town dazed as he heard the jets zoom by and heard the whistling of bombs falling he sprinted to a house and bunkered is the basement. He felt the earth shake falling to the ground, screams of fellow soldiers and friends …show more content…
They wanted to know everything he knew about the army and were they planned to attack. He didn’t have much fight left but was out of his traumatized daze that he was found in by the Germans. Not to long after he was thrown in his cell maybe only two days later he was taken to a type of interrogation room where he told them everything they wanted to know just wanting to the be over. He was told that he would be executed later in the week. He was in grim way happy to hear that knowing that it could all be over soon and he wouldn’t have to spend more time rotting in the his cell wouldn’t have to think about all of his friends dying.
While being carried to his execution he remembered about his family. He had forgotten about them and it came to him in a shock making him realize that he needed to escape for them to be able to see them. He quickly developed a plan he had heard of a POW that had escaped by jumping through a bathroom window.
He then asked “I need a bathroom unless you want to be smelling something foul”. The German Soldiers looked at each other and quickly stated “hold it for a minute there in one just around the
