They chose buying supplies over food, and lied to almost everyone. Gerta and Fritz were shortly joined in digging by their mother. She didn’t approve but wanted to be free. They met their dad on the other side, who was also tunneling. He’d given her the drawing to be ready, because they were coming. There was one problem. On her father’s side of the tunnel, the dirt was caving in, and time was running out.

“A Night Divided” was one of my favorite books I’ve read this year. I would rate it 9 out of ten, just because the start of the book was kinda boring and hard to get into. Once I got half way though, I was hooked, and never wanted to stop reading. My favorite part was at the end, when Gerta, Fritz and their mother finally escaped, and were reunited with their father and Dominic. It was a heart-warming reunion. This book has 336
