In, Through The Ever Night, Veronica Rossi, the author, uses description to show how the main characters Aria and Perry are dedicated to their tribe. On page 66 the author says, “Get out of there Perry! he yelled… … Perry didn't answer this time. He couldn't leave until they had Old Will.” This part in the book shows that Perry is willing to go out into an Aether storm and help get Old Will to safety. On page 145 the author uses description for the first time to show that Wade is smart and dedicated to the right kind of work. “I was pulling my gloves on when I heard the explosion.” Ernest Cline uses description in this sentence to show Wade what could happen if he isn't smart. This lets the readers be excited for what Wade has done and happy that he can make decisions for himself. Wade has many hard decisions in his book to make and because of the decisions he is rewarded with money and the love of his life. But without being dedicated to taking the right and truthful path he would not have made it to his rewards.
