For example, one thing that I could do as a future teacher would be the bus situation. The article says that they have reduced the idling of diesel buses and trucks, but I feel like it could be better. When they pick up the children from my observation hours or even when I observe my cousins being picked up, as the kids are running outside to get their bus the busses are on and idling while they are waiting in line to board the bus.
I think that they could turn the bus off and wait until all of the students are on the bus before turning it on. These kids are smaller so they don’t understand that the hot air that is blowing out at them is carbon monoxide. They think it cool for air to be hitting them. Another thing they schools should do is have all of the bus students wait inside if the bus company won’t turn off their engines so they are only exposed to the minimum bus pollutants. By doing this you won’t have as many students standing where the carbon monoxide is coming out. Schools could improve the health and intake of pollutants
