A wise and discerning king is one who will be able to make the hard choices that profit the good of the kingdom. Looking at the picture of the “The Voluptuary” by John Gillary it’s obvious that the depicted Prince of Wales enjoys his alcohol. One of the noticeable things in the painting is that the Prince is an alcoholic. There are assorted bottles mostly empty scattered across the table and even on the floor. He is overweight which is a result of both his gluttonous behavior towards food and alcohol. Granted, most people understand the effects alcohol can have on the body and more specifically the mind.
