that when kids don’t remember what their parents have shown them, the parents become sorrowful because the hard work they had done when the kids were young, is just tossed aside.
While reading this text, I thought of my older half sister. She doesn’t live with us anymore because she moved out and after all the advice her parents have tried to teach her when she was young, she can’t seem to remember that information because she is so busy with her life trying to get a stable job, her boyfriend, saving money, etc. Now when she tries to do activities with her father that she used to be amazing at, she can’t quite remember what she needs to do to accomplish the task successfully. It is a little bit sad thinking about it because looking back on what I used to know how to do and what I was good at when I was younger, I no longer can do those hobbies because I was so caught up in school and getting good grades that the fun activities and important life lessons my family taught me, have left my mind.
Throughout life, I have never really appreciated what I learned from my family. School was and is the most important aspect in my life from when I was very young and with that thought, I always thought that my teachers were right and that I knew everything so I never listened to the advice my parents gave me. This is an important lesson because I need to realize that sometimes families and living life can be more important than school sometimes because it is possible to learn from experiences and time spent with my family.
