2) The Emancipation Proclamation was a document that Abraham Lincoln signed to free all slaves.
3) The "flames of withering injustice" was the unfairness of slavery and how it degraded people of African descent.
4) Dr. King's purpose in mentioning the Emancipation Proclamation in the begining of his speech was to show their progress in ending segregation and to show that they needed to continue their ancestors work.
