Analysis Of Martin Luther King's I Have A Dream Speech
"I Have a Dream" was a speech given by Martin Luther King. King was the last to give his speech for the event. He gave his speech on August 28, 1963 on the Lincoln Memorial. The speech was said in the" March on Jobs and Freedom" to approximately 250,000 people were present. King's main purpose for his speech was to end racial inequality throughout the country. More so to get African Americans as much opportunities as anyone else.

Believe it or not Martin Luther King almost didn’t give the “ I Have a Dream” speech. Mahalia Jackson encouraged King to go ahead and tell the people watching about the speech. King decided to go for it and improvised the rest of the speech. The speech gave people a realization on how different black people were treated compared to the whites. He had a dream that one day everyone would be able walk and communicate without being discriminated against. He wanted to point out that your skin color shouldn’t make you any different than anyone else. Everyone should be able to walk the same streets, interact with whom they like. King teaches one that all of this starts with the children. If you teach a kid from a young age to be a certain way then that’s what he’ll turn out to be but if you tell them they can have the freedom to interact with any kid they like to that’s a change. In the speech he said that he’ll like for the children of a slave and the children of a slave owner to be able to grow up together, in the same environment and not feel any different.

King knew that if a person that has gone through the struggle of being treated differently, there would someone else just like him with the same struggle that would have his back. And gain supporters to stop racism, and make racism something people hate to see not join in. Martin Luther King Jr knew that non-violent protests is the way to go if you’re trying to make a

In conclusion, this article explains how Martin Luther King Jr. and other African Americans were treated inadequately, injustice, and African Americans were unequal to white men and women. These whites were delusional, insane, ruthless because they assume their race was more superior than colored men and women. Before they did, african american men were taken advantage of. They were not seen for the character and charisma that they had, instead they were seen as how they could be beneficial to their master. Martin Luther King Jr. had a vision that he wanted all men and women no matter their color to come together and accept each other. Martin Luther King kept his vision of change that he wanted to see in the world, and it worked. He wanted us to “be able to sit down together at the table of brotherhood”(King 4). MLK wanted to live in a world where the society would be able to join together and “not be judged by the color of their skin”(King 5). He is a major influencer that emphasizes the importance of equality. Although he was a member of the African American society, many men and women are influenced by him and follow him. I personally like MLK and look up to him. His inspirational speeches allow me to be openhearted and have broadened my horizons. He made me be more optimistic, he proved that even though there are “vicious racists,”(King 5)in the world, we all still have the ability to come together and work as one. I see racist people in this world and I find them ignorant that they don’t even know how it came to be. In the “I Have a Dream”speech, he talks about how african american people went through “trials and tribulations”(King 4), he wants them to know that even though bad things are happening, he still has a dream that equality will reign throughout the country. When the new generations of America take over the world, I would want them to receive the same message that he gave…

He only dreamt of being treated as an equal citizen, not based on the colour of his skin and ethnic background. This topic was directed at millions of African Americans suffering from extreme poverty as a result of being denied opportunities in their own country. The topic resonated with everyone in the crowd on that day and would be repeated several times in the speech. The majority of the people taking part in the march for freedom on that day only dreamt of being accorded the same opportunities and rights that their fellow white citizens enjoyed. ‘I have a dream’ was an excellent topic choice for the event and still remains synonymous with the struggle for freedom up to this day…

On August 28, 1963, thousands gathered at our nation's capitol to hear and see Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. express himself nationwide about the critical issue of racism in America. Those who attended or saw any broadcasts that day witnessed what many would consider the greatest and most powerful publicized speech in American history. King's speech, "I Have a Dream," was written in response to the dishonoring of the Emancipation Proclamation and strong racism toward blacks in America. King described how the combination of these two things caused suffering slavery, police brutality and revoked citizenship rights to all Negros in America.
