What Is The Impact Of I Have A Dream Speech
“I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character”(King). Minister Martin Luther King Junior gave the historic “I Have a Dream” speech, which was created to help African Americans receive their rights and gain equality. Consequently, Dr. King was a very large part of the Civil Rights Movement and is a very iconic symbol of the act. This powerful address was told on October 28th, 1963 in front of a crowd of hundreds of thousands, consisting of both blacks and whites. This gives off the impression that he is truly speaking to the Heavens when he tells the world what his dream is. Dr. King has a fascinating dream of equality during a time it was nonexistent. He does the opposite when he speaks about what is happening today. When discussing the horrors African Americans have faced because of discrimination, he looks down, often shaking his head. The man is disgusted by what is happening to black residents, who have done nothing but simply live their normal lives.
