Effects of Modern Age Technology
“I cannot imagine how I would live without it.” These are the words uttered by countless teenagers and adults about the technology they use to enhance their daily lives. It is hard to remember the days of lugging around CD’s and walk-mans. Bicycles as transportation seem like a thing of the past. Writing notes and remembering information for the next day is long forgotten. Reading encyclopedias and using books for research papers seems nonexistent. Martin Cooper topped the modern handheld cell phone era after inventing the first cell phone in 1973 for Motorola Company. Though bulky and expensive, they were very popular. Then, in 1990, the cell phone companies did it again. They had worked for years to drastically reduce the size and cost of cellular phones. Cell phone software has greatly changed over the years. Cell phones are able to make more calls, play games, download music, and even surf the internet. My cell phone is my life line. It helps me stay connected to my friends, family, and everybody around me. Having a cell phone allows me to be more independent. Presper Eckert and John Mauchly. It was named ENIAC. The first computer came in at a shocking 27 tons and was the size of an entire room. Owning a computer allows me to have many freedoms and options. I can have contact with friends and family by receiving and sending mail. Obtaining information is extremely easy with all of the available search engines and websites. A computer gives me easy access to get help with homework, schoolwork, and even do some online shopping if I feel the need for a break. Computers have advanced in technology so much, that today they are being used in a wide variety of ways. They can be used to help build cars to help perform surgery. If I did not have a computer, I would feel very out of place and uncomfortable in a society that relies so strongly on computers and similar
