APA: How The Chicago Referencing Style
What is APA?
APA (American Psychological Association) is a type of referencing style that was created in the 1929. This referencing style was created by a group of psychologists, anthropologists, and business managers. They gathered together to assemble a set of procedures and style rules that would organize components of scientific writing and to increase reading understanding. Like all other referencing tools APA consists of rules that ensures clear presentation of written material.

What is the Chicago referencing style?
The Chicago referencing style was created by the University of Chicago in the 1906. This referencing style joins rules of grammar and punctuation that are common in the American English.

The Chicago referencing styles focuses on two basic documentation systems. Firstly, notes and bibliography and secondly, author-date. Depending on the subject matter and the nature one choose between the two systems. The DUT Harvard style uses parenthesises when referencing.

EXAMPLES:

A book in print (APA) Baxter, C. (1997). Race equality in health care and education. Philadelphia: Ballière Tindall.
A book in print(Chicago) Note Style: 1. Michael Pollan, The Omnivore's Dilemma: A Natural History of Four Meals (New York: Penguin, 2006), 99–100.
A book in print(Dut Harvard style) In-text citation example:
“Dry ingredients should never be pushed down into the cup; rather spoon them lightly into a cup and level them with a knife” (De Villiers 2009: 18).
