There are three main different views of the abortion debate. Most of the debate is if the fetus is considered a human or not is the main argument. For the pro-life side of the abortion debate, they mainly say that it should be considered human. Of course the pro-choice feel just the opposite usually. I personally, consider myself to be Pro-Life because I don’t think that we have enough information on the fetus and I could never consider killing a human (or even a fetus). I feel that the parents should have taken responsibility and taken the appropriate actions such as choosing abstinence, or at least using contraceptives. Hopefully, you will agree after looking at the opposition and their views/arguments against my view.…
The pro-choice argument is saying that fetus in early stage cannot have a right to life. we have to define the term equality. This term represents how humans should be treated and how different people should be treated differently,…
The U.S. Constitution was created so that they can provide rules for the government. The principle of limited government is fundamental and is essential to a democracy. One way the Constitution limits the power of the national government is by specify not only the powers of government but also those things that the government is prohibited from doing.…
A big controversy throughout the United States is about abortion and whether or not it should be illegal. People who are against abortion are called pro-life. Supporters of abortion are called pro-choice. Both sides have very strong and argumentative points and can even start disputes between friends. A couple of ways that abortion can be seen as a good thing is that nearly all abortions take place within the first trimester of the pregnancy, teenage mothers will most likely not have a good future, and every woman has the right to choose what to do with her own body. I believe that every woman has the right of choice which makes me pro-choice.…
The pro-life side argues that nearly all abortions take place in the first trimester, when a fetus cannot exist independent of the mother. As it is attached by the placenta and umbilical cord, its health is dependent on her health, and cannot be regarded as a separate entity as it cannot exist outside her womb. The argument that pro-life states that in the instance of rape and incest, proper medical care can ensure that a woman will not get pregnant. Abortion punishes the unborn child who committed no crime; instead, it is the perpetrator who should be…
There are many differences between a “pro- choice” position on abortion and a “pro- life” position. People who are “pro- choice”, then they believe that it is the woman’s decision if she wants to have a child and carry it for nine months. If someone is “pro- life”, then they are against anyone getting an abortion. They believe that the fetus has the same rights as a human being. The argument the “pro- life” people strongly believe is that every undeveloped human is sacred and must be protected by the government. The “pro- choice” people argue that when a humans personhood cannot be proven in pregnancies, then the government does not have the right to prevent a woman her right to decide whether or not she wants to continue with the pregnancy.…
Is Abortion really murder. Give about 266 days after conception and see what emerges from the womb. It will be a human baby, not a horse, a fish or an honey badger. When a human egg and sperm unite, the result is a fetus. Within 3 week you can hear a heartbeat. At 4 weeks you are able to pick out facial features, arms and legs. Nerves and brain waves are in place by eight weeks after conception. At 12 weeks breathing of fluid for oxygen. So is this a fetus or a human? That is still up to interpretation. Legal rights have stepped in but, yet they are broken all the time.…
Cyberbullying has had such a negative effect on people of all ages. It has lead to many fatal events, especially suicide. So many young people end their lives, because they have been bullied over the internet. According to CyberBullyHotline.com, "20% of kids cyberbullied think about suicide, and 1 in 10 attempt it" and "4500 kids commit suicide each year." Worst of all, the bully doesn't admit to his crime, and pretends like it never happened.…
Abortion is a legal and necessary medical procedure to have available in the United States. Despite spiritual, emotional, or physical beliefs, the basic truth of any right or law is that a person is free to express his or her opinion and to fight for causes, provided it does not harm another person. This concept could also be applied to the issue of abortion. Though some may argue that a woman who gets an abortion is, in fact, harming another person, medical research has yet to define personhood as happening in the “moment of conception.” Personhood (which is what the concept would apply to) is defined as happening in the “moment of birth” (ProCon.org, 2012).…
The main argument pertaining to abortion is whether or not a fetus is a "person" that is "indistinguishable from the rest of us" and if it deserves rights equal to women's. On this question there is a tremendous spectrum of religious, philosophical, scientific, and medical opinion, but it all really depends on who you ask. It's been argued for centuries. Fortunately, our society has recognized that each woman must be able to make this decision, based on her own conscience. To impose a law defining a fetus as a "person," granting it rights equal to or superior to a woman's, thinking, feeling, conscious human being, is not only arrogant but absurd. It only serves to diminish a woman's value. (Heritage House 76, Inc.)Under the view of pro choice supporters the embryo is not a baby since it can not survive and live outside the uterus since it receives everything needed to survive from the mother's body. In a sense the fetus dies but it was never living to begin with so it can not be considered an act of murder as pro-lifers would argue. More simply consider acorns and trees. (Robinson) Just as an acorn is a fertilized egg of the oak, that does not make it a tree. Sure it has the potential to become an oak tree, but it has not yet grown to that…
Abortion is a heavily debated issue in our country. Many people believe it is immoral and unethical, while some see it as a necessity. Whether the fetus is one or forty-five weeks old, many still see it as murder. At what point of the term of a woman’s pregnancy, is a fetus considered a human being? This issue is still up for further debate. The debate in regards to abortion stems from whether a woman should have the right to end her pregnancy or give birth. I personally do not believe in abortion, however, I also believe it is a woman’s right to make that decision, especially in situations regarding teen pregnancy, financial hardships, rape, and incest. The following paragraphs will describe these circumstances in greater detail, supporting why I support pro choice abortion rights.…
There are many arguments against abortion claiming how unethical it is. Three of those arguments are the following: First, it has been proven that embryos bond to their mother during the first trimester or early in the second trimester (Fletcher pg.3). Second, a mother that has terminated her pregnancy early on has not had adequate time to think about her decision (American Life League 136). Finally, not only is the mother killing that one person, but she is also killing every other human being that would have existed due to that baby being born. (Ronald Reagan Speech-1983) When a person has this point of view towards abortion there is only one option, not having an abortion. Pro-lifer's feel abortion is morally wrong, and that is equivalent to the murder of a living, breathing human…
The moral gravity of procured abortion is apparent in all its truth if we recognize that we are dealing with murder and, in particular, when we consider the specific elements involved. The one eliminated is a human being at the very beginning of life. No one more absolutely innocent could be imagined. In no way could this human being ever be considered an aggressor, much less an unjust aggressor! He or she is weak, defenseless, even to the point of lacking that minimal form of defense consisting in the poignant power of a newborn baby's cries and tears. The unborn child is totally entrusted to the protection and care of the woman carrying him or her in the womb. And yet sometimes it is precisely the mother herself who makes the decision and asks for the child to be eliminated, and who then goes about having it done. It is true that the decision to have an abortion is often tragic and painful for the mother insofar as the decision to rid herself of the fruit of conception is not made for purely selfish reasons or out of convenience, but out of a desire to protect certain important values such as her own health or a decent standard of living for the other members of the family. Sometimes it is feared that the child to be born would live in such conditions that it would be better if the birth did not take place. Nevertheless, these reasons and others like them, however serious and tragic, can never justify the deliberate killing of an innocent human being.…
The idea has of abortion has been around since people figured out how babies have come to be, and there always has been two sides the recently coined terms Pro-Life and Pro-Choice. The Pro-Lifers believe that the unborn fetuses have as much rights as a born child and that to terminate the pregnancy would be the same as murdering a person outside the womb. The Pro-Choicers believe it is up to the individual person to make the decision whether to continue the pregnancy or terminate. They may not personally believe in abortion, but they feel it is not their place to decide what a woman should do with her body.…
Any reasonable and sound person would be outraged and anxious if someone offered to grant mothers a right to kill their babies immediately after birth. This would be called inhumane and immoral – it would be a crime. However, this is what proponents of abortions actually do by standing for etching of the embryo before birth. They ignore the fact that the baby is already a human being, from the very first days after conceiving. According to W. L. Saunders, “Every human being begins as a single-cell zygote, grows through the embryonic stage, then the fetal stage, is born and develops through infancy, through childhood, and through adulthood, until death. Each human being is genetically the same human being at every stage, despite changes in his or her appearance” (Saunders). In other words, abortion is still infanticide, a killing of a living human being, despite the fact that the child is still in the womb.…
