Misty finally came out of the water dry. She walked into the house to find her sister sitting on the couch. “Where’s Ignacia and Rose? Did you do something to them? You did didn’t you! What did you do!” Marina looked down and frowned. She then looked up with a nervous smile. “Marina, what…
A few seconds of silence passed. The next thing she said came out as almost a whisper, so quiet that I almost didn’t hear it. “She probably doesn’t even want to see me again,” she quietly scoffed, rolling her eyes. I just stayed where I was, silently protesting her stubbornness. She slumped, and sat back down in the plastic chair behind her.…
Rachels believes that accounting for the value of privacy simply by looking at specific, unusual circumstances fails to demonstrate the importance of privacy in ordinary situations; hence, he chooses to focus on common cases where privacy is relevant. From this approach, he determines that we value privacy because the amount of privacy that we might have with a person essentially defines the relationship. From there, he specifies that, “our relationships with other people determine, in large part how, how we act toward them and how they behave toward us. Moreover there are different patterns of behavior associated with different relationships” (293). Indeed, we do not act toward our mother the way we do…

Laura leaned forward with her glass. She put her elbows on the table and held her glass in both hands. She glanced from Mel to Terri and waited with a look of bewilderment on her open face, as if amazed that such things happened to people you were friendly with. Webster’s Dictionary defines Intrude as to put forward or interpose (oneself, one’s views, something) abruptly or without invitation. If I were to use it in a sentence, I would write “The government of the United States love to technologically intrude on its citizens.” Even though there are certain protections listed in the 4th Amendment including the right for all citizens to be secure in their persons, homes, papers and effects, against unreasonable search and seizure. It also states that unless given probable cause, there must be a warrant supported by cause, oath, and affirmation. When it comes to House Arrest, some may say the fact that there is a digital GPS on the convict’s ankle seeing and tracking every move they make is considered intrusive.…

The controversial debate over abortion laws has been the focus of much political and societal attention over the past century. The term “pro-choice” outlines the belief that a women should have the right to control her own body, and in turn, the right to an induced abortion. The main concern of pro-life supporters is for the health of the unborn fetus in the woman’s womb, regarding it as an individual with rights to life, and that abortion is an extreme violation of these rights. However, this standpoint is extremely flawed. The majority of all abortions take place within the first trimester, while the fetus is attached to the mother through the placenta and umbilical cord, and is completely dependent on her health. At this stage in the pregnancy, a fetus cannot be regarded as an individual entity with rights and reasons. Reflecting the evolving perceptions and moral standards of society, the procedure involving the removal of a fertilized egg from a woman’s cervix has become a topic regarding much social stigma in Western societies. Despite the debate and controversy over this medical treatment, it is crucial that women in contemporary society have access to abortions and the right to choose, specifically because of the imminent dangers in illegal abortion clinics, instances such as rape or incest, and especially the basic human rights that the female population is entitled to. The implications of abortion laws cannot be regarded as insignificant in modern society, and the importance of their abolishment correlates directly with the emotional, physical, and psychological well being of would-be mothers.…
Nearly half of all pregnancies among American women are unintended, and four in 10 of these are terminated by abortion. Abortion should be made illegal, because a fetus is a baby, no person has a right to take another's life, and an unborn baby cannot make the decision to live or die.…
