“Government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the Earth.” -Abraham Lincoln. President Lincoln is a great president and is one of the best presidents in history. He signed into the Homestead act. He spoke the Gettysburg address. He was the person who made free mail service, telegraph coast to coast, and linked the nation by rail. One of the great things Lincoln did was sign the Homestead act. The homestead act is where Americans are offered 160 acres of land for free. The main thing this did was that it encouraged people to settle in the west. The act gave anybody, man or woman, a “fair chance” in life. 1863, President Lincoln

    To me that is one of the greatest achievements anyone could ever have in the united states history . Lincoln grew up with great moral in his early childhood, his family even moved because of slavery and other reasons . But that goes to show you how his parents moral views influenced him to see the world in a different way.
