What do you want?
A great job? Lots of money? A great relationship? A shiny fancy car?
Do you want to go sailing around the world for a few years in your very own luxurious boat?
Or do you just want to get along better with yourself?
Perhaps you want all of those things. But we all have a common desire to find happiness.
What is Happiness? A belief, an idea, a theory; but theories, beliefs, and ideas have the possibility of being wrong. According to the philosopher, Aristotle, happiness is an end, an end result of all the things a person does.
Action may not always bring happiness; but there is no happiness without action.
So here are my two ideas on how to take action, and make your own happiness.
My first idea is the all serious stuff and my second idea.......well, you have to listen to the serious boring stuff first.
Here goes........try stay awake 1. Happiness is all about choice. The world of those who are happy, is different from the world of those who are not. You can choose to find happiness in small, everyday things. Your choices control much of how much happiness you will find.
2. Focus on the present, not yesterday or tomorrow. You only have now. Yesterday is a memory and you cannot change it. Tomorrow is just a fantasy in your mind right now. So live more in the now, focus on the present moment and today.
3. Don’t forget to be grateful. A few things you can feel gratitude for are for instance: The sunshine and the weather. A good TV-show, a movie or a song. health. Your friends, family, or even a full day of subs.
4. Help someone else find happiness. There is a Chinese Proverb that says:
If you want happiness for an hour — take a nap.
If you want happiness for a day — go fishing.
If you want happiness for a year — inherit a fortune.
If you want happiness for a lifetime — help someone else.
