Adolf Hitler After World War 1, Germany was in a horrible state. They had to pay reparations to other countries thanks to the Treaty of Versailles. This was difficult since Germany was going through one of its worst stagflation epidemics in history. A new government was also ushered, which had nothing to do with the treaty. Germany was in a state of perplexity because of all the punishments they had received. Germany was searching for someone who could bring them out of this seemingly insurmountable situation. He gathered his stormtroopers and surrounded a beer hall. He seized two major political people and tried to get them to commit to his cause. Hitler said that it was time to overthrow the government. The politicians went along with his plan, but Hitler released them and Hitler was double-crossed. Hitler gathered three-thousand S.A. and attempted to seize control. The police were ready for the situation. Many were killed or arrested, as was Hitler’s case. This situation became known as Beer Hall Putsch. He decided to rise to power politically. Hitler became friends with many business men who loved Hitler’s views. Through this he began to receive funds and support. He gained heavy support of the Nazi party. In 1929 there were only 12 representatives, but in 1932 there were 107. With his Nazis in the Reichstag, Hitler decided to run for president. He ran up against Paul von Hindenburg. Hitler was eventually defeated, but still was not deterred. He realized that his party needed more representatives because that usually meant that their leader would become chancellor. He increased his number of representatives from 107 to
