“More Stressed Than Normal? 5 Signs You're Suffering From Adrenal Fatigue” is an article that addresses adrenal fatigue that was printed by US News and World Report. Basically, the article pointed out several things that can leave us feeling exhausted with continual stress as the ultimate cause of adrenal failure. The author explains the way that our bodies deal with stress, and how our bodies react when they are placed in chronic stress situations. At the first read of the article, I was able to logically follow and relate to the symptoms listed. The scientific explanation and reasoning seemed to make sense. I doubted that the level of adrenal fatigue could be as much as 80% as stated in the article from US News and
World Report. However, I do agree that chronic stress is prevalent due to our lifestyles. As with all medical subjects, there are articles from both ends of the spectrum. I reviewed several articles regarding adrenal fatigue. Some medical professionals denounce findings while some natural medicine professionals denounce scientific proof. I found the author of the original article had an interesting background as he is a doctor of natural medicine, chiropractor, and clinical nutritionist. I feel that his background allowed him to include more medical information in his explanation of the adrenal gland. The majority of the articles that I found on adrenal fatigue were either calling adrenal fatigue a fake disease or taking more of a holistic focus. The article that I found regarding adrenal fatigue is titled “The Ragged Edge” by Ginny Graves. Graves wrote that adrenal fatigue is a real problem, and she recommended many positive lifestyle changes, such as healthy diet and finding ways to decrease stress levels. I found the article tended to focus on more holistic thought than scientific proof, so I would not rely on it as sole proof of adrenal fatigue and its treatment.
