Most adult students attend school for a purpose. They want to advance within their job, they are looking for a second career, or they would like to be able to communicate with their children that are in college. Most adult students do not have time to stay on campus and socialize as do their younger classmates which most of the time live on campus. This is one of the main differences between the young and adult students. Most adult students attend college and leave when it is time to leave. The young students have a purpose but also have time to enjoy the college life that surrounds them.
Conclusion It is rare that you find an adult student that lives on campus and does not work but attends college full-time. The life of an adult student is very different from your typical college student. The adult student has more responsibilities to think about while they are trying to juggle school, work, and family life. Sometimes the adult student is returning to school just because they enjoy learning but most of the time you will find it is to better
