However, it might not be clear to understand easily for someone because there are various definitions during the profession. For example, I understood that epistemological principle relates to the kind of knowledge. The definition of this principle might be different from other concepts in the literature. The concept of advanced practice nursing is really distinguished from other levels of nursing in the literature, whereas, comparing with medicine, there is no more difference (Ruel & Motyka, 2009). This principle might be relevant to the understanding of the advanced practice nurse role in the literature. Pragmatic principle relates to the helpfulness of a concept in a discipline (Ruel & Motyka). This principle might relate to the practical more than theoretical. This principle pointed out that the advanced practice nursing in the literature might helpful and applicable to health care (Ruel & Motyka). Whereas, advance practice nurse role might not make a sufficient contribution to the community. Linguistic principle relates to the human speech. This principle might provide the meaning of the concept via a diversity of context, for instance social and cultural (Ruel & Motyka). The concept of advanced practice nursing might not be a linguistically mature concept. Logical principle makes relationship with other concepts through the theory. Advanced practice nursing might not mature concept under this principle because there are vague boundaries between various roles.
This concept provided a different definition of advanced practice nursing to understand what is the value of advanced practice nursing in society and health care professions. The concept of advanced practice nursing might support the connection between knowledge evolution and nursing practice (Ruel & Motyka, 2009). It might be difficult for a professional nurse or FNP to explain and clarify this concept for clients or society because there are various meanings and roles of advanced practice nursing. However, it is important that as a family nurse practitioner can explain and solve family health problems, whether via this concept or by their nursing experience and knowledge. If the patient is sick or needs health support, the nurse should focus and solve that issue or illness. Then, the nurse can provide nursing advice and instruction to the patient related to the concept. The professional nurse can provide a contribution made to community based on the advanced practice nursing role. Clients might not want to obtain care from the concept of advanced practice nursing, especially if they do not know what is the worth of APNs in the society. It is necessary that the APN can understand the concept before providing nursing advice to the patient so that the patient can understand the concept of advanced practice nursing easily and quickly.
