If tobacco ads were banned completely, what harm would it cause our society? It is quite obvious that the dangers of tobacco are becoming well known to more and more people. What most people don't know is the benefits of the tobacco industry. The Washington State's teachers' retirement fund comes from the tobacco industry's profits. The jobs and taxes created by the tobacco industry helps our economy. The tobacco industry also gives large amounts of money to charitable organizations.
Education is a valuable thing and is impossible with out teachers. Teachers are retiring in massive numbers and deserve a good retirement for all of the years of their hard work. It is getting very difficult to find qualified candidates for opening position in Washington State, if new teachers are not going to be guaranteed good retirement benefits. The decrease in tobacco sales caused by banned advertising will not only hurt retired teacher but current and future teacher.
The tobacco industry has always been stable industry. Thousands of people live and provide for their families with the jobs that the tobacco industry provides. If the tobacco advertising would increase, sales would go up and it would create thousands of more jobs, which will help the economy. The tobacco industry also helps the economy from the high taxes on tobacco products.
The tobacco industry gives large amounts of profits to charitable organizations. The money is used help feed and give shelter to the homeless, and helps the less fortunate. Also, the money aides in free education and awareness on AIDS and HIV. This extra education enriches our youth's awareness and gives hope to a better society and world.
It is important to keep the tobacco advertising alive and well. The money for the teachers' retirement funds comes from the tobacco industry. The tobacco industry provides a boost for our economy by creating jobs and taxes. Charities receive large donations from the tobacco industry. If the tobacco industry advertised more it would increase the strength of the industry and the more they can help society. So in the end banning tobacco ads completely would cause harm to our society.
Today we learn about our struggles and losses of yesterday. That may be a depressing way to phrase it but only negativity comes out of it if nothing is gained or learn from the experience of defeat. Maybe some of us can call each other hopeless and useless but to me someone is just learning the obstacles they have to face and in a sense it gives them lost hope.
