They believe that “the older you get the more knowledge you gain.” Adolescent girls are not allowed to wear any clothes that are above the knee and walk around in the town; failure to do so will lead to a huge fine. Pre-marital sex is an abomination not only to you but to your entire family. Any girl caught performing a sexual act with a man who is not her husband will be forced to marry him; however, if he is already married, she will become his next wife. At the age of ten to thirteen, both girls and boys are send to the Sande and Pro society; during this process, the girls learn how to cook, clean, and plait hair while the boys learn how to cut tree, and hunt. Rape is a crime, but if the elders feel that you encouraged the act maybe by seducing the rapist, you will be in trouble. Pregnant women are not allowed to take bath at night. Children should respect their parents. Beating your child/children is not a crime but rather an act of discipline. Women are to respect their husbands as they respect their fathers. Some of them are respectful. Students have no regards whatsoever for their teachers, mostly in high schools. For example, a former classmate of mine in Butler High School told our Sociology teacher Mr. Heather to “shut up” when he was told to leave the class because he did not want to put down his cellphone. Parents and their children fight and throw curse words at each other; my little brother Thomas yells at his mother whenever he is asked to do task. Teachers are not allowed to yell at students or discipline them in any way but they are required to impart knowledge to the students. Black adults, especially the men have no respect towards women and girls; they call them all sort of names. Personally, my children will not be raised in America.
