I believe that it is awful to make indecisive people vote because they may not like either thing, it will take 20 times longer to finish the voting process, and it will make them not think about their answer. With mandatory voting comes punishments and they can be way to harsh. The punishments would be getting arrested, fined, and sometimes even killed. These punishments would be just because people decided they didn't want to vote that day. Imagine that somebody had something come up or just didn't want to vote then the government goes to his house and arrests him just because he couldn't come.
On the other hand, people could say that it would make a more accurate vote. Society would have everyone's thoughts and opinions on it. For example, this article states “Getting more people to vote would ‘completely change the political map in this country,’ Obama said.”(
