This document contains a list of sixteen careers which require some knowledge in the field of agriculture. The careers are categorized and each category consists of a main colour and variations of that colour. The average yearly salary of each career is also included.

Animal Breeder
An animal breeder administers medication and treatment to help animals reproduce or reduce difficulties in the reproduction process.

Nature I
Botanist
Botanists study plants and their environment. They study plant structure and interactions between plants, other organisms and the environment. They try to make plants more productive and useful to mankind. They normally work in zoos, botanical gardens and pharmaceutical companies.

Nature II
Florist
Florists grow a variety of plants and flowers. They also create decorations with flowers, plants and greenery, and they make party and wedding accessories based on customers’ orders.

Forestry Officer
Forestry Officers manage field operations and administration in forest regions. They develop plans for growing new trees too.

Horticulturists conduct research and experiments to determine methods of producing, storing, processing and transporting flowers, fruits and vegetables.

Nature V
Soil Conservationist
Soil Conservationists plan and implement soil management practices that will improve the crop yield and determine the ideal use for particular lands. They develop programmes to make the most productive use of the land without damaging it.

Physical I
Farmers cultivate a variety of crops and/ rear livestock for sale.

Physical II
Farm Managers manage the overall operations associated with the growing, processing and selling of agricultural produce and livestock. They negotiate with banks and credit lenders to get the best financing deals for their equipment and livestock.

Physical III
Farm Workers prepare soil, plants and harvest a variety of crops. They rear animals like pigs, chickens and cattle. Farm Workers are normally employed by farmers.

There are no specific requirements; however, having any knowledge of farming is an advantage.
Science I
Agronomists carry out experiments and investigations into field crop problems, and develop new methods of growing crops to ensure more efficient production, higher yields and better quality.

Parasatologists study parasites whenever they appear. They make treatments for parasites.

Agricultural Engineer
Agricultural Engineers apply their knowledge of engineering technology and science to agriculture and the efficient use of biological resources. They design agricultural machinery, equipment, structures, etc. They develop ways of conserving soil and water and of improving the processing of agricultural products.

Dairy Technologists develop new and improved methods of production, preservation and utilization of milk, cheese and other dairy products.

Technology III
Greenhouse Technicians work in greenhouses. They breed new plants and find new plant uses. They’re normally in charge of transplanting, thinning, harvesting and drying plants, treating and watering seeds. They are often in charge of seed storage and of data collection, record keeping and making decisions based on the information gathered.

Technology IV
Irrigation Specialists install, operate and repair irrigation systems. They manage and operate on – farm irrigation systems. They use methods like surface irrigation and sprinklers. They ensure the effective use of irrigation methods.
