Aims of the Nazi State in WWII
Aims of the Nazi state: A government strong enough to overturn the Treaty of Versailles. A strong army to make Germany once again the great military power. A strong thriving economy to restore the prosperity of the German people after the helplessness of the Great Depression. Needed a forceful and decisive leader. To beat France in a war, if necessary. To make German industries as powerful as they were before WW1. To create a racially pure Germany, who would be a part of the Volk (“the people’s community”) - they would see their own lives as less important that their contribution to Germany itself.
Methods of terror and control: Rid of people with undesirable qualities. Organisations like churches, political parties, swimming clubs, choirs, anything which would divert the people’s attention from the Volk would be dissolved or taken over by the Nazis. Everyday conversation between friends should be controlled because the Nazis wanted to ensure ideas opposed to Nazism were banished.
Persecution of Minorities The Nazis wanted to get rid of racial minorities such as the Jews, by removing them from positions of power, hounding them out of the country or isolating them from pure Aryans (Hitler believed that the so-called Aryan people- blond, blue-eyed Germans- were superior to other races.
Treatment of Women The highest duty of a German woman was to have as many racially pure children as possible. They should be prevented from marrying men of other races. The Nazis didn’t want women to work for a living. Women should be responsible for the “Kitchen, Children, and the Church” Women with duty any greater than that were frowned upon and in some cases, they were removed from their position of power, such as factory workers.

The propaganda used by the Nazis was the key to their power and policies, and their main objectives was to establish enemies in the population’s minds such as the nations that imposed the Treaty of Versailles, Jews, Romani, homosexuals, and Bolsheviks. Jews were blamed for robbing Germans jobs and for the Bolshevism, communism, and Marxism (the major enemies of the Germany in Hitler’s mind). A Nazi newspaper, even told Germans that Jews kidnapped small children before they needed the blood of a Christian…

Nazism was a form of government unlike any other in history. Lead by Adolf Hitler, the Nazis had distinct beliefs and policies, severe racism and hatred, strong, new family values, and plans for future Germany and the world. The Nazi party came to power in the early 1930s, thanks to Adolf Hitler. Hitler was loved and admired by all of his followers. The Nazis derived many symbols from ancient runes and made code names for things like their concentration camps. They also formed several new laws and restrictions. Racist beliefs and violent actions were all part of everyday life in Nazi Germany. Concentration camps killed millions of people using gas chambers and firing squads. The Jewish race was considered inferior, and therefore extremely and harshly discriminated against by law. Family values were encouraged, education was reformed, the women's roles were outlined, the Aryan race was to be the only race, and law controlled breeding. Education was reformed in order to benefit the state, not the individual. The woman's main role was to bear children, cook, and clean. The Aryan race was the only "superior" race, so therefore Hitler wanted to have all Aryan citizens. Only the elite would reproduce and inferior races were restricted from breeding with the superior race. Hitler had several plans for his new Germany and for the world as well. Hitler wanted leaders in Germany. He also wanted to control what everyone saw and heard to maintain a working state. The youth of the world was to be under Nazi control, and Europe and Russia were to be conquered. Approximately eleven million people died as a result of the Nazis. The Nazis were one of the most racist forms of government ever.…

In Germany, Hitler wanted to create the perfect Aryan race. He had a specific way that each person should look in the race but the Jewish people did not look like what he wanted them to look like. Hitler’s Aryan race was supposed to be, “Tall, long legged, slim… narrow-faced, with a narrow forehead, a narrow high-built nose and a lower jaw and prominent chin, the skin is rosy and bright… the hair is smooth, straight or wavy” (document 3). Hitler wanted to create a unified Germany made up of the best of the German people. This included the aforementioned blonde hair blue eyed slim Aryan race. Most of the Jewish people at the time, looked different than a stereotypical german person so they were persecuted and treated very harshly for their looks. The Jewish stereotype was curly dark hair and big noses. Furthermore, appearece was one of the ways the Nazi’s would determine who was Jewish and who was not. Since the Nazi’s blamed the Jew’s for their problems, they were treated very harshly if they were confirmed/suspected to be a Jewish person. Another way that the Nazi’s took down the Jewish people was by boycotting their businesses. One of the main ways to hurt the economy of someone is to stop their flow of income. The Nazi’s wanted to make the Jewish people more poor and easier to wipe out so they boycotted their companies and stores. The Jewish stereotype included a power and money hungry person and that they would do anything for more money. The Nazi’s knew the steriotype and acted upon it by spray painting “Jude” meaning Jew on the store windows so then everyone would know to boycott the store so the power hungry jews wouldn’t make more money. This made it so the Jewish people were not making enough money to keep their property and buy enough food. Furthermore, the Nazi’s made laws to protect themselves and hurt jewish people. The Germans did not…

The German women of 1930 to 1945 were to look and act in the way of “the National Soziallistische Volkswohlfahrt (National Social People’s Welfare Organization)”, ruled by Adolf Hitler. Their role was to be a good wife to their husbands, take care of their children, and to keep a clean house while her husband was away at work. Women were however allowed to get their education. Young girls were taught in their schools that all women were to marry well-mannered German gentleman that was “racially pure”.…

They believed they were cleaning up the streets but forgot they were removing people who God deliberately put on this earth. Hitler and the Nazis thought people could be divided into different races. The idea of deliberately segregating people based on race is an extremely evil notion. Especially since the idea of race is completely unfounded. Yes, the concept of human races is real. It is not a biological reality, however, but a cultural one. Race is not a part of our biology, but it is definitely a part of our culture. Thus, Hitler was putting death into his own hands based on a false notion of race and murdering innocent people. Such as, Primo Levi’s friends, family and loved ones.…
