In “Spfourner Truth, Ain’t I a woman” talk about the inequality black people face in American. During her time she faces discriminations as a black woman. In her speech she tells people about the way woman that suffers from their own form of discrimination. She said “woman needs to be helped in carriages lifted over ditches, and have the best place everywhere” (1-9). She was describing the way white man and woman treat a black woman during her time. This woman was emotionally when delivery her speech.
She was telling her audience in her speech that they need changing by treating everyone equally. She used rhymes in her speech “Aint I a woman” by telling her audience that she has right like other white woman also has right to equality. She used that rhymes to show how anger she was that she deserve right to equality. Sojourner said that she born like 13 children, that all her children was sold into slavery. After her suffering of her life by white people which nobody seems to care about her life Sojourner used biblical way to experience how she feels by responding that “A woman can’t have as much rights as a man because Christ wasn’t a woman”(1-32). She used biblical way to mention that a woman should stand as equal right as a man do to make the nation a better
place. This poem was all about inequality against woman, black and man. The expression she made was that woman has every right and equal to treat equal like man. It look like the stories is not a new things to me because this poem identify how black people are discriminated and not treated equally. Talking about discrimination among black people who are not treated equally I think she has a point there, but this has been an issue for most dedicate past and present and I don’t think this issue of black people treated badly or white not treating black people equal will ever stop. The most important things is that discriminations among black people is not that much in this modern society, like it was during the author time. This speech or poem has become tedious to me every day because, it has become same issue people talk about every day. I definitely believed that if discrimination didn’t stop in this generation I believe it will stop in next generation. I really understand the author tons and anger she expressed in her poem. During her time she as a woman, wanted to make sure black people and woman treat equally as man. At the end of the poem she used biblical way to expressed her emotion toward man who happened to be the one who rule the world, by insisting that woman have every right to stand up to their feet and rule the world. I didn’t feel anything because I know this issue of discrimination has been going on long time to the extent of becoming tedious to me.
