Air Pollution and Its Affects on Society
Does air pollution have an impact on society? Air pollution is a worldwide problem. It's the introduction of harmful substances or products into the environment which can occur naturally or artificially.
The first major cause of air pollution is car exhausts which lead to about 45 to 50 % of the total air pollution. It is produced by unburned fuel in the form of oxides of Nitrogen and hydrocarbons. One of the hydrocarbons produced is Carbon monoxide which is one of the most dangerous gases resulting in many health problems sometimes even death. Another cause of air pollution is Nitrogen oxides. Nitrogen oxide is one of the harmful gases, it is produced into the atmosphere by burning of fuel. Nitrogen oxide is very dangerous when combined with rain; it forms Nitrogen trioxide which is acid rain. When acidic rains pour on soil, it increases its acidity causing the damage of crops and makes it almost impossible to replant, plants that rely on rain water to live and grow are endangered Other pollutants harm the habitat, food or water that plants and animals need to survive. All these pollutants are causing changes to the places where plants and animals live around the world. Another effect is illnesses. People have no choice but to breathe the air around them. When it is polluted, they breathe in ozone, particles, and harmful gases that can hurt their lungs, heart and overall health. Air pollution can cause burning eyes and breathing problems, such as asthma or severe bronchitis, also ultraviolet radiation causes skin cancer. Pollution affects the overall day to day living of people.
Pollution is really a big problem in the world because it is causing ozone depletion, nature dying and many different illnesses. So we need to try to avoid pollution. There are many causes of air pollution and the effects of air pollution influence present lifestyles and if we don’t do something about it now it may affect our

The poem “One Art” by Elizabeth Bishop is in the form of a villanelle poem, which means that it’s a nineteen-line poem that has two repeating rhymes and two refrains. The first and third line of the opening tercet, which is a set of three lines of the verse rhyming, are repeated in the last lines of the stanzas. Elizabeth Bishop approaches loss is an indirect way, meaning the poem does not directly explain what it means to lose something. She gives examples of losing things, like keys and her mother’s watch, before she mentions the bigger things like losing a home, or a loved one. Although she starts off with the smaller things, she does end up mentioning losses that do feel like a “disaster.”…

Air pollution affects everything from agriculture and ecosystems to human health, on a global scale. The five major air pollutants are ground-level ozone, particulate matter, carbon monoxide, sulfur dioxide, and nitrogen dioxide (Donnatelle, 2010). A majority of these pollutants are the result of human action. One example being coal power plants. These plants release greenhouse gas emissions and particle air pollution. The burning of the coal creates pollutant byproducts. Other forms of industrial pollution, exhaust fumes, burning wood, and several forms of indoor air pollutants result in air contamination. The combination of various air contaminates can be extremely toxic. The pollutants irritate the lungs and may even cause respiratory diseases and cancer in humans (Donnatelle, 2010).…

When people think about air pollution, the things that come to their mind are smog, acid rain, and other forms of outdoor air pollution. Air Pollution is not a new topic. It is a problem that we have noticed since the industrial revolution, when trees, houses and cars were covered in soot from the factories. Every year, chemical substances present in the air within buildings affect the healths of thousands of people. The definition of air pollution is "The presence in the atmosphere of one or more contaminants as is injurious, or tends to be injurious, to human health or welfare, animal or plantlife."Ozone, a gas, is a major part of air pollution in cities. When ozone forms air pollution, it's also called smog. Air pollution are the leading cause of death in China. Acid rain falls on 30% of the country. The World Health Organization has found that about 750,000 people die prematurely each year from respiratory problems in China.…

There are so many human activities that accidentally or not already made the earth became damaged. And one of them is pollution, pollution is one of the big problem that we face now. There are three pollutions such as, air pollution, water pollution, and land pollution. Air pollution became the most famous issue in the world right now. “Air pollution is the accumulation of hazardous substance into the atmosphere that danger human life and other living matter”(2013). The simple example from human activity that accidentally we made or not of air pollution are when we drive car and the car will release the emission. One more is tobacco smoke, believe it or not smokers have a big role in air pollution. It contains the most dangerous element of air pollution for health. Fact of cigarettes “Cigarette smoke produces 10 times more air pollutions than diesel car exhaust”(2004). Surely all of these problems started from human activity and make a big impact for all human being in the world. The other…

Air pollution has a direct connection with urban environments all over the world. With an increase in industrialized countries ,the of use of cars, factories and also the use of fuels such as fossil fuels that emit greenhouse gasses, like carbon dioxide and sulfur dioxide, into the air, there has been a definite rise in air pollution over the world (Mayer, 1999). There are many short term effects that air pollution causes to the urban areas and to the people who are living in those areas. The first short term effect of air pollution is that it can cause health issues for the inhabitants of the area. Air pollution can cause the inhabitants to get itchy throats and irritated eyes. It also has been linked to causes bronchitis and pneumonia (Silverman, et al, 2007). Short term air pollution exposer can also cause an increase the rate of allergy infections and asthma diagnosis to the people who live in the area. The short term effects on environment range from smog clouds can cause the health issues, like the ones previously mentioned (Silverman, et al, 2007).…

Air pollution consists of many types. Smog, acid rain, ozone layer, and the green house effect destruction all cause serious problems for people and the environment. Smog and acid rain are caused by the release of noxious gases, like carbon monoxide. The ozone layer is being destroyed by another form of air pollution, Chlorofluorocarbons, even though these were band in 1995 people now use hydro chlorofluorocarbons, which destroy the ozone more slowly (maybe take this out?). Burning fossil fuels cause another type of air pollution that releases very small particles into the air.…
