The Jeep first made its appearance during World War Two. The government gathered up three companies to see which could make the most efficient, all terrain vehicle. After a long process, the Jeep was being sold to the military and being used for multiple purposes. One of the reasons the Jeep was chosen to be used as the military’s main vehicle was because it was sold for low prices and easy to make. Although it was cheap, it was one of the most durable cars that the military possessed. Soldiers liked that the Jeep could go almost anywhere it was taken, and that it was fast. The Jeep was also used to take high ranking officers from place to place. Lastly, the car could be used as an artillery platform that soldiers used to shoot from. Dwight D. three primary tools that won World War Two.
Secondly, the airplane was a well modified advancement that was used during World War II.
The airplane ranged from simply cargo planes, jets, or even bomber planes. Airplanes carried tons of cargo overseas faster than what ships would have taken them. Also, there were two atomic bombs that were dropped from airplanes over Japan towards the end of the war. The dropping of these bombs started the beginning of the end of World War II. As sad as it is, airplanes were also used as major weapons. The Japanese used them for suicide missions. They would take their jets and fly them into their targets. This tactic was called Kamikaze. Aside from that, the airplane was very useful and contributed to the ending of World War
II.
Both of these inventions have impacted history during other time periods as well. For instance, the Jeep became a go to vehicle for medical transportation during the Korean war. The airplane became a very important way to travel all over the world. The airplane, however has been used in very negative ways that have impacted history. On September 11, 2001 terrorists hijacked airplanes and used them as weapons and flew them into very important buildings in the United States. This event changed the course of history for America and other countries as well.
In conclusion, the Jeep and the Airplane have played major roles in history during World War II. They were used for all different kinds of things and are still being used to this day. Over time both inventions have evolved and became even better. Granted they are not strictly for war purposes only, they still contribute to everyday life. As of right now, their purposes have no end in sight, and they will continue to be improved upon and people will find more uses for them.
