Albio Sires Research Paper

My home town is West New York New Jersey. I live in the New Jersey’s 8th District and the Albio Sires is my representative for the House of Representatives. He was born in Cuba in the town of Bejucal. He was a born few years before Cuba became communist. Him and his fled family January 1962. When he moved to America he moved to my home town of West New York. He earned a Masters Degree from Middlebury College in Vermont. Albio Sires was first a teacher for the West New York and a business man before he became mayor of West New York inn 1996.. He is in the Democratic Party. He was also named of the mayor year in 2004 by the New Jersey State Bar Association and Legal Services. As major he is mostly known for creating more affordable housing units. (Biography. (2012). He also served two terms at the Speaker of the Assembly in the New Jersey State Assembly. He first ran of representative for the House of Representatives in 2006 when Robert Menendez left the sit open to run in congress.

Albio sires worked as a teacher in West New York before becoming a Representative of the House so he has first hand experience with some of the problems of the education system. He believes that education is very important and is something that we should be investing more in. His he created to program to help college students which are STARS I and STARS II program. He has also increased the funding for public education by $760 million and has helped fund after-school programs for kids. Also in the Fiscal Year 2016 budget process he supported an Alternative Budget Resolution which would have close corporate tax loopholes and increase education investments like early childhood education and Pell Grants. He had help and introduced a few different types of bills to help with transportation. He introduced a bill named Bicycle and Infrastructure Improvement Act (H.R. 199). In which would help mayors develop biking and walking networks for people. In the 2015 UN Conference on climate change. Their the UN made the Paris Agreement which is a pact to reduce global carbon emissions and to keep global warming to under 2 degrees. He is also excited to see what these partnerships are able to make and how they can help produce clean energy. Another important issue that is important to the people in my district is Obama trip to Cuba. Albio Sires believe that Obama should not go too Cuba because they are still communists. Albio Sires said the following “This trip sets a dangerous precedent for U.S. presidents visiting dictators in Latin America and is another step towards legitimizing a dictatorial regime that thrives on the backs of innocent Cuban people” (NJ.com). He grew up in the same town as me and has a similar family background as me and because of that I think we share a lot of the same view on things. He knows first hand what it is like to grow up in West New York, mine and his hometown. Also he has voted and made for many programs that I believe in. For example, STARS I and STARS II. He understands how hard going to college is for many students and he tries his to help the student that want to go college.
