Jacksonian Democracy- The Jacksonian democracy was part of the democratic party that sought to allow all white males (no females) suffrage, no matter their education,
political background, or finances. Jackson wanted to add power to the president and the executive branch while limiting Congress. He agreed with the patronage, a.k.a “spoils system”, which allowed elected officials to appoint political supporters into office which ended up giving them more power and control.
Jeffersonian Democracy- The Jeffersonian Democracy was a Democratic-Republican party that was for the people (white males primarily) and wanted to limit the control of the federal government to the littlest possible. Jefferson wanted the government to have limited interference with the rural area. He also tried to make rural workers more superior to city workers, and that farming is a way of life that can shape ideal social values, and stresses the superiority of a simple rural life compared to a complex city life.
