Alicia In Wonder Tierra Play Analysis
I went to see the play on November 11, 2016 at University Theatre at California State San Bernardino. The title of the performance is Alicia in Wonder Tierra, I went inside the theatre it was already dark and there was a scene shop there with many items on the table. I was sitting in the “House Center” according to my ticket, I get to see everything and hear everything clearly, except for when the character moved to the side. This play is about a girl who went to a Mexican shop with her mother, this girl doesn’t have much knowledge or interest in her heritage. The girl name is Alicia, who was fascinated by the displayed on the table. In the corner there was a Mexican doll (Rosa) that stood out to Alicia in which she tries to grab the doll and trips over the pottery where she ends up breaking it. When Alicia open her eyes, she was in an amazing, fun, and adventurous dream where she met other creatures and characters that helps her learn about …show more content…
I really like Ramon’s costume because it is exactly similar to when he was a puppet. When he was turned into human, he stills got the strings that’s attached to him like a puppet. I can see that the crew put a lot of affords in putting the Aztec Priest/Mambo King costume because it was amazing. It is very unique and when the lighting focus on the King, the crown and the costume pattern was very nice, the color that were being used is bright and I noticed that the King wasn’t wearing shoes. The evil Elviria gang costumes was amazing as well because once you saw them you could tell that they aren’t nice from the beginning. They were wearing black clothes and all three of them have long hair. I love it when they pulled out the chicken claws to scared Alicia because I wasn’t expecting that. I think that the puppets were very cute and the actors that did their voice did a really good job because it matches on how the puppet supposed to

The costumes of the show were amazing. They made each person look like their actual character. My favorite costume of the show was my costume as the Lion. What really impressed me about my costume choice was the fur jacket I had over my Lion suit. I also loved how each of the main characters’ costumes were unique in its own way. My second favorite costume of the show had to have been The Wiz himself. Dontae’s costume was very unique as well. Since The Wiz himself was very grand, he had…

The soundtrack was impressive and gave suspense and drama as where needed. The special FX was up to date and gave a realistic feel to the movie. The cinematography is what brought this film's ratings up in my opinion. I really like the irony in the lightning, Especially Pegg's use of zoom-ins and quick cuts… hilarious. Also, the camera angles of when Ed drives himself and Shaun to his parent's house dodging zombies left and right was also very entertaining. I believe I almost jumped out of my seat in fright when Ed hit the lurking zombie speeding down the…

The Awakening by Kate Chopin is a novel full of symbolism which reveals much of the deeper meaning in the story. Within each narrative segment there is often a symbol that helps to add meaning to the text, and the understanding of these symbols is essential to a full appreciation of the story. These symbolic elements help the reader to make a connection between Edna’s world and her eventual awakening. Throughout the novel there are a huge number of symbols but three of the most meaningful symbols used are birds, houses and the ocean.…

The Sharks a Puerto Rican gang wore more traditional style spanish clothing that always incorporated the colors red and black. The Jets a rivaling white gang wore clothing time appropriate for a 1960’s teenager, like collared bowling shirts, and plain t-shirts. The Jets also kept with a color scheme of blue and white. One of my favorite scenes that sums up the great job the costumes did on making the play great was when Anita, the girlfriend of Bernardo, at the beginning of the play is creating a dress for Maria, Bernardo's sister, who is constantly teasing Anita telling her that the dress should not make her look to up tight. After a good bit of whining Maria finally puts on a beautiful white dress, and continues to spin in front of the mirror admiring herself. In one of the most moving scenes of the play when everyone on stage is wearing white to symbolize purity, and innocence after two influential characters have been stabbed to death. The people who have been stabbed come out in the same white clothing, but it is covered in blood to show. This choice of clothing shows the death of innocence of the young boys who have been corrupted after the murders they committed.…

In the novel The Edible Woman, author Margaret Atwood tackles the difficult subject of anorexia nervosa. Although this subject is often handled with kid gloves by many writers, Atwood’s novel candidly addresses how different food related stigmas affect the main character’s day to day existence. In the late 1960's, young women faced a society that expected them to conform to certain qualities in both appearance and demeanor. The portrayal of young women in popular movies, television and music of the time period led to internal conflicts among women who struggled to achieve the norm put forth by society. Young women everywhere were convinced they needed to look and act like Marcia Brady and turn into Carol Brady even if meant sacrificing their…
